Get to Know Your Assistant TeacherI was born in Long Island, New York and moved to North Carolina in 2005. Now that I have spent half my life in the south, I would never want to live anywhere else. All of my immediate family lives in North Carolina. We are all very close and spend a lot of time together. I graduated in 2015 with Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from William Peace University. Soon after I started working, I realized the corporate world was not for me. I had always thought of teaching as a great career. I started working at Sycamore Creek last October as a Teachers Assistant in first grade with Mrs. Hall. Right away I loved working with children and at this wonderful school. I am now currently in the Master’s program at NC State to obtain my Masters in Elementary Education. My favorite things to do are spend time with family and friends, shopping, going to the beach and riding my horse. I have been riding horses for almost 15 years. I showed horses competitively for many years, but now I just enjoy spending time with my horse Woody. He is a 25 year old Hanoverian with a lot of personality. His favorite treats are marshmallows. If I am not at my home in Raleigh, my husband and I are at the beach. We love being at the beach and out on the boat. My husband Drew is from the coast so we are fortunate to get to spend a lot of time there. Drew and I just got married this past April. In addition to my horse Woody we have a very goofy and spoiled 3 year old black lab named Whiskey. I cannot wait to have a wonderful school year with your children!
